granny is a dating coach for iPhone with personality and memory. You upload screenshots of your dating-app conversations, granny reads them, gives you a verdict, flags anything worth noticing, and coaches you in her own voice. If something's not working or you just have a question, we're happy to help.

Frequently asked questions
How does granny work?
You pick screenshots from your photo library. They're sent securely (encrypted in transit) to our backend so a vision model can read the text out of them. granny then reasons over that conversation, plus what she remembers about you, and gives you coaching in her own voice. Over time she builds a picture of you, your patterns, and what you're looking for, so her advice gets sharper.
What happens to my screenshots? Is my data safe?
- Your screenshots are sent securely (encrypted in transit) to our backend. Our safety pipeline first attempts a check with OpenAI's moderation service and, if that is unavailable, a fallback check through Vercel AI Gateway. If both checks are unavailable, the current runtime may continue while alerting our team. The image then goes through Vercel AI Gateway to a vision model that pulls out the conversation text.
- After you confirm the transcript, granny coaches on that text plus relevant context, not the picture. Coaching goes through Vercel AI Gateway to a Claude model by default. We do not use the conversation content to train granny or build our own training dataset.
- Your notebook stays on your phone: the conversation transcripts, granny's notes about you, your per-match memory, your journal, and your chat history all live on your device, protected by iOS device encryption.
- We don't store your conversations or your notebook on our servers. What we do keep on our side is your account record and usage records for billing and fair-use. For the full picture, read the Privacy Policy.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Your subscription is an auto-renewing subscription billed through Apple. You manage and cancel it in your App Store account settings on your iPhone, not inside granny. It auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. To stop renewing, just cancel before that window.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you reinstall granny or switch to a new iPhone, open the app and use Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with, your subscription will come back.
Are there introductory offers?
Plans, pricing, and any introductory offer available to you are shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm a purchase.
Is there a usage limit?
Yes. A weekly fair-use cap applies to AI usage, because every read and every coaching turn has a real AI cost behind it. A subscription isn't unlimited use. The cap is generous for normal day-to-day coaching; if you hit it, it resets each week.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds for subscriptions purchased through the App Store are handled by Apple, not by Peeled Banana. You'll need to request a refund directly from Apple through their support.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, use "forget me." After our server accepts the request, the app wipes all data stored in the app on your iPhone, your notebook included. We permanently delete your account, usage and billing records, Sign in with Apple identity, RevenueCat subscriber record, and PostHog analytics profile and event history. If a provider is temporarily unavailable, a durable deletion job keeps retrying the unfinished server-side work until it is complete. The request is irreversible, so only do it when you really mean it.
Is there a web or Android version?
Not yet. granny is iPhone only for now. To sign in she uses Sign in with Apple, and your session stays in your iPhone's keychain.
Who is granny for?
Adults. granny is for people 18 and over, and isn't directed to anyone under 18.
One more thing: granny reads conversations that include the other person's messages. That content gets processed by the AI providers too, and the other person hasn't agreed to any of this. By uploading screenshots, you're saying you have the right to share them, and you take responsibility for that. There's more on this in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
